Sweet Sunday

We sang this song today, and I was shocked to find out that it was the final song on the American Idol "Idol Gives Back" show last week. I guess even they recognized the power in this wonderful song. And, while I'm no fan of this show, I have to admit I think the finalists did a fantastic job on it.

SHOUT TO THE LORD

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and Majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am, never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and Majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing
Power and Majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have...
Nothing compares to the promise I have...
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

We sang that today too! I love it. The Psalms say God dwells in the praises of His people, and so much happened this morning, for me. It was Awesome, not the slang kind but the kind with the capital A.

I thought the same thing when I heard them sing it--with the original words even! It was refreshing to hear this great song on a program about giving.
