While doing a Mad-lib together after dinner one night recently, we asked our 7-year-old for an adverb.He was dutifully trying to remember what words fit into that part of speech, and we explained that it's usually an adjective with "ly" on the end.
He laughed and said, "Then Emily is an adverb!"
Chuckling along with him, we explained -- with a wink -- that "Emi" wasn't an adjective.
To which he replied, "Sure it is. Something just has to be sweet like her!"
Emily beamed at her brother. A very "Emi" moment.
